Mission & Values

The Lazarus Center’s mission is to support students and graduates as they connect their liberal arts study to their career goals. In doing that work, we incorporate the following values:

  1. We strive to provide an environment in which everyone feels that they belong, that they are heard, respected and valued.

  2. We utilize an individualized approach that recognizes and develops each student’s strengths and unique perspectives.

  3. We work to eliminate barriers to access, affirm all students’ identities and advance equity on campus and beyond.

  4. We uplift the value of building strong connections between Smith students, alums and their global communities.
